Martial law in the collective Polish memory following the collapse of Communism

Article Abstract:

Martial law remains a controversial subject in Poland and there is an overlapping of the autobiographical memory of those who witnessed the events and the memory of younger generations based on accounts conveyed by the media and educational system in the collective memory. Many Poles consider martial law as a decision made in a situation of absolute necessity and acceptance of the historical decision is promoted by current left-wing views, while right wing views consider marital law as unjustified.
