Neighbourhood diversity: social change, ambiguity, and fair housing since 1968
Article Abstract:
Attitudes about the viability of integration, along with demographic changes such as a growing Black middle class, have generated failure for the fair housing policy and other attempts at widespread social integration. Opposition from both Blacks and Whites occur, although based on different historic premises. Intra-racial division as well as weakness in the laws are also deterrents. Currently the outlook for widespread open housing is unpromising.

Should we ... could we ... change the CDC model?, A rejoinder
Article Abstract:
The concept of community development corporations (CDC) has to be overhauled, since CDCs have generally failed to rebuild problem urban neighborhoods. Although supporters contend that CDCs have fared well considering the political and economic obstacles they continually face, CDCs have become contradictory to their goals. A better alternative is a multi-neighborhood CDC that focuses on community organizing.
