Network exchanges among Russian households: An experiment in empirical research

Article Abstract:

Brief look at networks of a particular type, the horizontal networks of Russian households, that is informal contacts between household on the basis of kinship or friendship in the form of the exchange of resources, is discussed. It is seen that there is a definite level of nonequivalence in network exchanges but the networks do not fall apart, and are free of conflict which offers proof that they function without regard to value and cost.

Article Abstract:

The influence of the inequality of income distribution on health is presented with reference to studies that look at a possible intermediate role played by social investment. Findings reval that differences in people's health in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the 1990s were, to a large degree, due to the level of social and economic stratification.
