Article Abstract:

The article examines news coverage of health inequalities in the United Kingdom, and how the New Labour government used these as a social policy agenda issue. Discussion includes how the emphasis on inequalities shifted between official documents and press coverage, and how this shifting emphasis produced negative coverage of the Labour government.
