Research and enlightenment on rural Chinese women's participation and community development

Article Abstract:

The factors that influence the participation of rural Chinese women in community development are discussed. Factors include public opinion and community pressures, self-awareness among women themselves, and provision of community services. Suggestions for promoting greater participation by women in community development are provided.

The Golden Rooster film festival has been held in different Chinese cities since 1992. The importance of this festival might be more enduring if it remained in one location where it could be internationally televised.
