'The Dance of Poverty' and Beninese folktales
Article Abstract:
'The Dance of Poverty' is a Fon folktale in Benin, Africa, that warns about the dangers of avarice and the corrupting power of material wealth. Benin is a country in sub-Saharan Africa that has a very rich oral tradition. However, much of its oral literature are not yet known to the outside world. Thus, the need to put Beninese oral literature into print because most Fon folktales such as 'The Dance of Poverty' have a moral point.

Utility companies have decreased the number of employees at electric, gas and sanitary plants, but the ones that are left are doing more work in a shorter period of time. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' for Dec. 1997 and 1998 indicate employers are working approximately 2 fewer hours per week and have increased their workload by 2 percent.
