The homeless as objects of social discreditation

Article Abstract:

The task of addressing problems of the homeless is essential for Russia since the start of the 1990s in connection with the crisis of statehood and the decentralization of the management of the economic and social sphere. However, it might not be possible to conquer homelessness completely, but it is possible to reduce it to a socially tolerable and acceptable level by ensuring political willpower.

The homeless: the social lower depths of society

Article Abstract:

A sociological survey was carried out in Ulan-Ude, capital of the Republic of Buriatia, to examine the social position and way of life of the homeless. Although it is difficult to eradicate homelessness, relief organizations like the Red Cross offer measures such as free meals and clothing to help ease the situation.
