The love machine: Building computers that care
Article Abstract:
The possibility of forming a long-term, social relationship with a computer that handles the people's emotions without actually having the feelings is explored to determine its benefits. A study aimed at pushing the limits of human-computer relations with the help of Laura, an animated software agent, is presented.
