The vicissitudes of adoption for parents and children
Article Abstract:
Parents can provide a congenial atmosphere for the development of adopted children if they feel comfortable with the antecedents of the child. Adoptive parents should positively respond to children's queries regarding their birth family, culture and race. Positive response by the parents enhances the growing self-esteem of the child as they feel valued in the adoptive family. Thus, adoption is integrated in the total sense of family, culture and community for an adopted child.

Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze a case that characterizes how a child utilizes a long therapeutic association to move from isolated, withdrawn behavior in elementary school to participation in an after school drama organization in middle school.
