Article Abstract:
Walt Disney Co.'s motion picture 'Mulan' fails to create the sense of Chinese culture and tradition earlier illustrations of this story do. The animated main character has Western sensibilities and, although attractive and behaving admirably, does not evoke identification in most Chinese moviegoers.

Mulan's former home hitches a ride with Disney
Article Abstract:
The screening of Walt Disney Co.'s animated film 'Mulan' has significantly increased the popularity of the heroine's birthplace. Mulan lived in the present-day province of Henan, where a temple and two steles are dedicated to her.
