Towards a new quality: the Russian military doctrine and Eurasian security
Article Abstract:
The new military doctrine of the Russian Federation defines the goals of the Russian armed forces in the post-Soviet era. The geopolitical realities of the post-cold war period have introduced new concepts in military doctrine and military-technical policy. The new military philosophy outlines the transition to a mobile-forces based armed force and the removal of the nuclear non-first-use pledge. Based on altered concerns of international security in Eurasia, the doctrine reflects upon qualitative transformation of the Russian armed forces.
