Undocumented immigrant students at an urban community college: a demographic and academic profile
Article Abstract:
A demographic and academic profile of undocumented immigrant students attending a City University of New York (CUNY) community college is based on a study of 146 students whose academic records were obtained in the latter quarter of 1993. Many undocumented immigrants in the study opted for the CUNY because of its affordability and the notion that entry to the university assures them of a student visa. Most of the undocumented student immigrants were from the Carribean, Asia and South America.
