What does curiosity really do to the cat? A look at how message exposure can lead to illicit drug trial among college students

Article Abstract:

A study was done to understand the correlation between trial of illicit drugs and exposure to media messages about drugs through a model of product curiosity (MPC) on college students. The study revealed that media had the power to affect the perceptions of the people about drug use and it can affect the intention to try new drugs.

Effects of negative political advertising on individuals' cynicism and self-efficacy: the impact of ad type and message exposures

Article Abstract:

The study explores the effect of different modes of negative political advertising on individuals' cynicism and perceived self-efficacy in government-related issues. Findings suggest issue-based attack ads result in greater cynicism and lower self-efficacy than character-based attack ads.
