Divers who travel alone enjoy several advantages over those with companions and experience rich and varied awards. Among the rewards of going solo are peace and solitude and the ability to follow an impulse without compromising a companion. In addition, independence and inner strength are developed.

Delving into the depths: Pipin's dive to 500 feet tests the limits of human potential

Article Abstract:

The 35-year old Cuban born Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras broke his 1996 world record of 436 feet no-limit free dive when he dived to 500 feet in his ballast sled last May 31, 1997 in George Town Harbour, Grand Cayman. The pressure at such depth would have crushed a WWII submarine.

SeaSpace '96: the world's most popular dive show

Article Abstract:

SeaSpace is a diving industry event which brings together divers and diving equipment and supply marketers and producers. The Houston Underwater Club began the event in 1969.
