Many wonders of Yap
Article Abstract:
Yap used to be just a small island used as a brief stopover on flights from Guam to Palau. Later it bacame known as the leader in manta ray diving. These descriptions do not do Yap any justice since the tiny island has much more to offer beside mantas. Unique cultural and underwater sights await explorers.

Yap's Lionfish Wall: a vertical drop-off inhabited by the Pacific's most elegant reef fish

Diving enthusiasts can see the spectacular Lionfish during daytime at the Lionfish Wall, an imposing vertical drop-off located at the southern tip of Yap's outer barrier reef. Pelagic species such as the Dogtooth Tuna, Spotted Eagle Ray, Mackerel, Barracuda and Manta Ray also inhabit the Lionfish Wall.

Yap is known for its use of stone money and its many exotic dive sites such as underwater reefs and caverns. Yap Island is also filled with many small dive hotels, the most popular being the Manta Ray Bay Hotel.
