Bone injuries from diving

Article Abstract:

One of the long-term health effects of deep diving is osteonecrosis. The disease is caused by the occlusion of small blood vessels supplying the bone by gas bubbles, blood clots or fat globules. The incidence and severity of this disease is related to time and depth of diving.

Stopping the spread of infections

Article Abstract:

Viral infections are transmitted by body fluid contact and poor hygiene. By practicing careful hygiene - avoiding the sharing of snorkels, regulators, wetsuits - one can avoid transmitting infection and illness to other divers.
