Jewels of the sea: Purple Hydrocoral
Article Abstract:
Purple Hydrocorals abound from San Francisco to Baja California. This hydroid, which is a favorite subject among underwater photographers, can grow as high as 12 inches and can be usually found below 30 feet. Some tiny parasitic animals such as snails are often found on this hydrocoral.
