Taking notice: results of a study on aquatic warning signs

Article Abstract:

Research into the usefulness of warning signs at public beaches establishes that beach-goers frequently ignore signs, or can't recall the content of signs shortly after reading them. These findings are applicable to all aquatic facilities. Alternative methods for improving safety awareness are considered.

Aquatic sports facilities and other businesses should know the break-even point of when their total business revenues or sales equal their costs, so that a budget can be established in planning for coming seasons. An analysis and guidelines are presented in determining the break-even point.

Take control: the new breed of controllers simplifies operations

Pool operators can now use pump room controllers to monitor and control all pump room functions, including pumps, filters, heaters and chemical feeders. Some functions may even be monitored from remote locations.
