When is a pearl not a pearl?

The term 'pearl' is loosely used to refer to calcareous concretions found in different mollusks. However, the true definition of the word refers to the cyst or nodule of nacre that is formed separate from the shell of the bivalve creature.

The advantages and disadvantages offered by shipwrecks as dive destinations are examined. These include the 'Grosvener' Knot' shipwreck off the coast of Africa and the 'MV Diamond Knot' shipwreck in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
