A listing is presented of ski and snowboard competitions held during the 1997-98 season. The season starts with the World Cup Freestyle Aerials in Mt. Buller, Austria, during Aug 1-2, 1997, and ends with the Chevy Truck US Disabled Cross-Country Championships in Mt. Bachelor, OR, in late Mar 1998.

Getting ready to snowboard
Article Abstract:
A beginning snowboarder should rent snowboarding equipment a day in advance. Dryland practice in transferring weight and rolling the board on one edge will be helpful in reducing falls on the slopes.
