A 2 X 2 achievement goals questionnaire for sport: evidence for factorial invariance, temporal stability, and external validity

Article Abstract:

A study designed to evaluate the psychometric properties of scores for mastery-approach, mastery-avoidance, performance-approach and performance-avoidance goals from a measure of achievement goals in sport is presented. A priori 2 X 2 model was found to be the most appropriate for the study than any other alternative models.

The unique psychological meaning of multidimensional fears of failing

Article Abstract:

A research is conducted aimed to establish the unique psychological meaning of lower-order fears of failing. Partial correlation analyses revealed unique patterns of relationships for each lower-order fear of failure (FF) score with the external measures of self-talk, achievement goals, and contextual motivation.

Patterns of self-talk associated with different forms of competitive anxiety

Article Abstract:

Structural Analysis of Social Behavior (SASB) is the tool used to study popular existing schemes for classifying self-talk in sport. Result patterns of state-specific self-talk and situation-specific trait performance anxiety were found consistent with cognitive theories of anxiety.
