Age-related differences in 100-m sprint performance in male and female master runners

Article Abstract:

Research findings indicate that the age-associated differences in the velocity of master sprinters are similar for all age groups in each phase of the 100-meter run. However, a general decline in the performance with age is seen for sprinters of 65-70 year old. Data indicate that fall in performance with age is due to reduced stride length and ground contact time.
