Article Abstract:
The Senate repealed the 10% excise tax on boats in Aug 1993, retroactive to Jan 1, 1993. The tax was blamed for the loss of 30,000 jobs in the boating industry. Some industry spokesmen oppose the new taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel.
