A traveler describes an eight-day trip to the Galapagos Islands on a charter yacht. The government of Ecuador protects the environment by imposing certain regulations on yachts and tour companies. The wildlife on the Islands includes land tortoises, iguanas, and boobies.

Storm of the century

Article Abstract:

A man and his family were caught in high seas aboard the Hippo's Camp, a Morgan 43 boat, by a cyclone that hit New Zealand in June 1994. The safety lessons learned from that experience are presented.
