Apply the brake for a more powerful serve

Pulling the non-serving arm into the stomach can make a tennis serve more powerful. It pulls the front shoulder out of the way, allows the back shoulder to follow through and enables the serving arm to whip the ball forward.

Tennis players can improve their serves by using the energy supplied by legs and torso. Movements that allow players to begin with smooth strokes that build into intensity are described.
