Basic training: walleyes: novelty rigs aren't half as important as getting them when they're hot
Article Abstract:
Simple fishing techniques seem to be the most effective for catching walleyes. Walleyes are more likely to be active when they have finished spawning and when the water temperature is in the upper 40s and 50s. Sonar can help locate feeding fish.

Big time for walleyes
Article Abstract:
Half the walleye caught in the US are hooked in the two-week period just after spawning, but while they are numerous, these walleye are not too large. The huge females only regain enough strength to come out and feed about five weeks after spawning. Times, baits and techniques are described.
