Thirty-three teams from 9 countries traveled to Vail, CO, for the 1999 World Alpine Synchro Ski Championships. The highlights of the synchronized skiing competition are described.

A growing sense of snow

A three-day course on snow at Ouray High School in Colorado is described. Students learned to read tracks and studied the physics of snow formation and avalanches.
