Article Abstract:

The medical community once thought that thrombolytic drugs had to be administered to a heart attack patient within six hours in order to be effective. However, a new study of 6,000 patients showed that the drugs still helped up to 12 hours after the attack.

Boosting young bones

A recent study has shown that preteen children benefit from extra calcium before their period of rapid bone growth. Doubling the amount of calcium in a child's diet can increase bone density by 3%, which decreases fracture risk by 30%.
