Article Abstract:

Reinforcement and remodeling of motorcycles and their parts are compared to the construction and restoration of cathedrals. The type of material for both motorcycles and cathedrals must be considered in terms of stress load and failure. Structural knowledge contributes to product confidence.

Ram-air induction: Kawasaki's speed secret?

Article Abstract:

Kawasaki Motor Co has used ram-air induction on its 1993 Zx-6, ZX-7, ZX-7R and ZX-11 models. A hole in the front of the fairing acts as a simple compressor without moving parts to improve power at racing speeds and prevent heated engine-bay air from entering the carburetor at street speeds.

Article Abstract:

Racing drivers Jules Goux, Paolo Zuccarelli and Georges Boillot were aided by draftsman Ernest Henry in developing a four-valve-per-cylinder design. The design continues to be used by present bikers and car drivers.
