Life expectancy and reproduction
Article Abstract:
A study of life-history theory shows that reduction in life expectancy affects the reproductive behavior of organisms. An experiment on a parasitic wasp, revealed that it responded to barometric pressure changes related to thunderstorm, which can destroy small and weak insects. Wasps also responded to photoperiod, which can reduce their life expectancy, and altered their reproductive behavior accordingly.
