Runner Ruth Wysocki, who is 39 years old and has been running competitively since she was nine, is preparing for her fifth Olympic Trials in 1996. Wysocki has been working with the same coach, Vince O'Boyle, since college and hopes to represent the US team in the 1,500 meters event.

German Silva from Mexico won the men's division of the Nov 1995 New York City Marathon for the second consecutive year, as did Tegla Loroupe of Kenya in the women's division. Ironically, both runners dedicated the race to a deceased member of the family. Race details are presented.
