Effect of cadence, cycling experience, and aerobic power on delta efficiency during cycling

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between preferred pedaling cadence and delta efficiency, or working muscle efficiency, in experienced cyclists, trained runners, and noncyclists. Results indicate that delta efficiency remained constant across groups and was not significantly associated with pedaling cadence, aerobic fitness, or level of cycling experience.

Abdominal muscle activation of elite male golfers with chronic low back pain

Article Abstract:

Results show similarity in abdominal muscle activity and muscle fatigue parameters between asymptomatic control and chronic low back pain golfers. However, data suggest that repetitive golf swinging causes strain on the musculoskeletal system in chronic low back pain golfers.

Cadence, power, and muscle activation in cycle ergometry

Article Abstract:

Minimal muscle exertion during cycling occurs at a higher cadence as power output increases. This was the conclusion of researchers who measured the activation of seven muscles used during cycling in eight male cyclists.
