Effects of crowd size on referee decisions: analysis of the FA Cup
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted with data from Football Association (FA) Cup matches to assess benefits home teams enjoyed relevant to referee decisions, crowd size and the number of yellow cards awarded. The results revealed that home crowd advantage and size besides cheering and jeering might influence referee decisions at soccer matches.

The second leg home advantage: evidence from European football cup competitions
Article Abstract:
Data collected over 51 years was used to assess the winning advantage European home soccer teams have the benefit of when playing the second leg of the European Cup. The results showed that the second leg home team enjoyed a greater chance of qualifying for the next round though this appears to be declining.

Referee bias contributes to home advantage in English Premiership football
Article Abstract:
The article examines 5244 English Premiership League (EPL) match involving 50 referees and find that home bias between referees. Results confirm that the referees are responsible for some of the observed home advantage in the EPL.
