The influence of recovery posture on post-exercise hypotension in normotensive men

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of assuming a seated or supine position after a cycling test on the post-exercise blood pressure levels of healthy men. Findings indicate that the supine recovery position resulted in a lower peripheral vascular resistance while seated participants had reduced arterial pulse pressure and stroke volume.

Effects of spinal cord lesion level upon thermoregulation during exercise in the heat

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that tetraplegic and paraplegic athletes with high- and low-level spinal cord lesion are able to perform 60 minute of wheelchair ergometry in warm conditions. The site of heat retention is the area below the spinal cord injury, the lower limb in all athletes. Furthermore, increasing exercise duration or intensity and humidity or temperature appear to compromise the athletes' thermoregulatory responses.
