False moves

Article Abstract:

Boaters can take certain steps to safely make U-turns in rough seas. The key is to swing the rudder briefly to the right, slightly opposite the direction of the overall turn before swinging it hardover left. This allows the bow to pull a small, flat slick sideways and creates a lee for turning left.

Let's do launch

Article Abstract:

A boat expert gives advice on retrieving boats at public ramps. He suggests backing trailers far down the ramp to partially submerge the bunks and then using sufficient throttle to get the boat into the trailer. The technique should also be initially practiced in no-wind and no-current conditions.
