Golf courses are typically lined with trees and wooded areas, conditions that provide golfers with challenging decisions when a ball invariably lands in such an area. In order to safely hit over, under, through, or around trees, a golfer must consider a number of factors, which are presented.

Bunker mentality

Fairway bunkers present an unfamiliar problem for amateur golfers, one that can produce fear and a poor golf shot. When played correctly, however, a shot from a fairway bunker can be hit just as far as one from the fairway if the time is taken to understand what should happen at impact.
