A deer-hunting club in West Virginia was able to nurture an orphaned fawn whose care was given up by a local wildlife conservation group. The hunters fed the fawn with milk from a child's milk bottle until it could forage for itself and was eventually returned to the wild.

Modern slug guns and slugs designed by Ballistic Research Inc have raised the accuracy range from 50 yards for old Foster slug guns to 100 or even 125 yards. The $353 Marlin Slugmaster 12-gauge and the $423 Remington Special Purpose 12-gauge were tested and recommended.
