Field and laboratory correlates of performance in competitive cross-country mountain bikers

Article Abstract:

A laboratory test is designed with variable fixed intensities to simulate cross-country mountain biking and the results are compared with other commonly used laboratory tests and mountain bike performance. The results have shown that cross-country mountain biking is similar to uphill or hilly road cycling.

Can any metabolites partially alleviate fatigue manifestations at the cross-bridge?

Article Abstract:

The positive role for metabolites in skeletal muscle metabolism and fatigue and the effect of metabolites of fatigue on skinned fibers undergoing isometric contraction is discussed. It was suggested that the link between peripheral fatigue and central fatigue is a result of metabolite accumulation.
