Most people and especially runners do not drink nearly as much water as they should. Part of the problem is that most people wait until they are thirsty before they drink any water, when actually the body needs water before thirst signals the need to the mind.

Wrist heart monitors are excellent for runners because sometimes the athlete gets absorbed in running and does not listen to the body. Even people who are suspicious of high technology can get used to a monitor.
