Article Abstract:
Eric Sponberg's Globetrotter 42 design has a sail area of almost 1,300 sq. ft. The sailboat was outfitted with a 50 hp diesel engine bundled with saildrive. The boat's wing-section masts were made of carbon fiber and rotated on bearings near each base.

The Alloy 108 is a luxury sailing yacht with push-button sailhandling and excellent performance. Carbon-fiber spars and a fully battened main that furls inside the carbon-fiber boom decrease the weight of the rig, increasing speed and reducing pitch.

Article Abstract:
An evaluation of the Tripp 65 yacht is presented. This model is about 63-feet long, has a draft of 11.5-feet with keel down and a sail area of 2,050-square-feet. It is powered by a 170 hp Yanmar turbo diesel engine.
