Going somewhere fast: heart test may spare extra procedures

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that a test called exercise echocardiography is more accurate than the standard exercise stress test in diagnosing heart disease in women. Exercise echocardiography could spare as many as 35 of each 100 women at moderate-to-high risk of heart disease from unnecessary further testing.

Tone your bones: a prescription exercise for women of any age

Article Abstract:

Guidelines for developing exercise routines that benefit bone health are provided. Women are advised to focus on exercises that strengthen specific bones and to subject the bones to many of different kinds of exercises. Any exercise regime must be continued if bones are to continue to benefit.

Ultrafast computed tomography is a new noninvasive method for ruling out the need for angioplasty. The fully clothed patient passes through the center of what looks like a big metal doughnut during which time high-resolution images of the heart and arteries are taken.
