Managing black guys: representation, corporate culture, and the NBA

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to study the intersection of representation, management, and race in relation to the National Basketball Association (NBA), where corporate strategies are used for managing the African American players. NBA may be indirectly contributing towards the continuation of a link between Whiteness and management, while avoiding issues about race.

Narrative of race relations in southern Alberta: an examination of conflicting sporting practices

Article Abstract:

A minor hockey league in southern Alberta voted in favor of banning local First Nations Hockey Association .The exclusionary practices led to removal of Kainai from organized youth hockey and examines and permeates First Nation-Euro-Canadian relations in southern Alberta.

Inclusive soccer-exclusive politics? Sports policy in Northern Ireland and the Good Friday Agreement

The Good Friday Agreement has increased polarization than promoting a centrist political culture. It is difficult to convince sports administration to accept responsibility for promoting social inclusion in a political context.
