Managing hypothermia

Hypothermia occurs when the core body temperature drops below 95 degrees. Clinical signs include extreme shivering, the inability to think quickly, and a lack of manual dexterity. How to manage the various stages of hypothermia and the possible dangers in rewarming are discussed.

Sailors are very vulnerable to sunburn because of their lengthy exposure to ultraviolet radiation which comes from sunlight. This can be prevented by adopting a sunburn prevention strategy that will involve the use of protective clothing and sunscreens.
