Mike McCarthy on: early-season training

Article Abstract:

McCarthy won the US gold medal in the 5,000-meter cycling pursuit as well as smaller events in 1992. McCarthy's advice includes improving techniques in smooth pedaling and riding, building power, climbing, descending and cross-training. McCarthy suggests improving weaknesses and accepting personal challenges.

$5,000,000: that's what one company is giving the USCF. Spend it wisely

Article Abstract:

The USCF should redirect some of the money it will receive from EDS to support the development of young bicycle racers. The current plan allots most of the funds to administration and high-profile elite racers. The sport may die, unless money is spent to encourage new racers.
