Neck-rein tuneup
Article Abstract:
Neck reining is a conditioned response where a horse learns to associate the touch of a rein against his neck with the subsequent act of turning, rather than being physically led into a turn, such as with a direct-rein aid and it becomes typical for the horse to become less responsive over time. Using the cornering exercise one can fine-tune the horse's neck-rein mechanism and by increasing the neck-rein pressure when the horse is slow or dull to respond, he will soon learn that the quicker he turns, the lighter the cue.

Shoulder up
Article Abstract:
The horses are trained by giving them simple exercises so as to keep them from cheating while taking turns and save time. A horse is made to wait to turn until after his hip passes the barrel and counter-arc in the opposite direction rather than around it.
