On the temporal and behavioral consistency of pre-performance routines: an intra-individual analysis of elite basketball players' free throw shooting accuracy

Article Abstract:

The importance of temporal and behavioral consistency of pre-performance routines on performance skills is examined through an intra-individual analysis of elite basketball players' free throw shooting. Results suggest that adherence to a dominant behavioral sequence during pre-performance routines improve players' accuracy in free throwing.

Tournament structure and nations' success in women's professional tennis

Article Abstract:

The relationship between domestic professional tournament structure in women's tennis and subsequent professional ranking success of a nation's female players is examined. Results revealed moderate, positive correlations existed between tournament sub-groups and a nation's number of internationally ranked players.

Route choice in mountain navigation, Naismith's rule, and the equivalence of distance and climb

Article Abstract:

The author has described Naismith's rule that helps to decide the route in mountain navigation and its relation with the treadmill running experiments. The results are based on the equivalence in terms of time duration between climb and ascent and simple assumptions about rate of ascent.
