Optimal loading during two different leg-press movements in female rowers
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to compare concentric-only movements (CO) with stretch-shortening cycle movements (SSC) on the load at which power is maximized during the initial and entire portion of the concentric phase in nonballistic leg-press movements in trained collegiate female rowers. It revealed that there was no difference in the optimal leads for mean power of the concentric phase (MP) and peak power of the concentric phase (PP) between CO and SSC movements.

No physical activity X CETP 1b.-629 interaction effects on lipid profile
Article Abstract:
Results reveal that there apperas to be no change in the effects of the cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) 1b.-629 A-C polymorphism on blood lipid concentrations with physicial activity levels in a mostly sedantary population. Before stratification into CETP subgroups, higher high-density lipoprotein-C is associated with a greater percentage of high-intensity in men.
