Some of the greatest baseball players had their careers end in misfortune or doubt, and were never admitted to the Hall of Fame. The players include: Thurman Munson, Steve Garvey, Bill Mazeroski, Pete Rose, Maury Wills, Joe Jackson, Richie Ashburn, Orlando Cepeda and Phil Niekro.
