Article Abstract:

The increasing price of gasoline is only one of the reasons that sport utility vehicles are a poor transportation choice. SUVs are a suspected contributor to accidents involving other vehicles and pedestrians. Bicycle commuting has the advantages of gas savings, less pollution and safer roads.
