Food can be a great motivator, as well as efficient fuel for runners. Marathon runners in particular can spend a great deal of time thinking about food, both as a reward and a training tool. Marathoners expend so much energy that food becomes a very important part of their life.

Stanford researchers have found a way through the procedure of arteriography to explore problems of coronary disease. This also enables them to determines how running exercise reduces or prevents heart disease. Eleven male adult runners volunteered for a special study.
